The City of Kawartha Lakes is seeking an individual to fulfill the part-time position of:

Assistant Manager of Food Services

Reports to:  Manager of Food Services

Job Description:

• Assist Manager of Food Services to manage/co-ordinate the daily operations of the dietary department;
• Assist with managing and controlling residents, and menus, food production and supplies;
• Responsible for assisting with budget management;
• Interact with residents to ensure appropriate nutritional care;
• Liaise with the Manager of Food Service and the consulting dietician and use nutritional assessment forms and nutritional risk management tools, which may result in the implementation of dietary revisions,
• Assist Manager of Food Services with conducting quarterly charting on all residents classified as low and moderate nutritional priority as per ministry of health standards;
• Other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Education Required:

• Candidates must have and maintain current membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM);
• Diploma in Food Service Management or related discipline;
• Minimum 3 years experience within a food service administration environment;
• Eligible for membership in Ontario Society of Nutrition Management;
• Experience working in an environment governed by legislation and legislative rules and regulations;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and industry specific software;
• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, and the ability to deal with multiple demands;
• Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy;
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to deal with contractors, staff and the public;
• Preference will be given to those candidates with CSNM designation and knowledge of long term care standards.

Hours of Work:

• Shifts are subject to change;
• Weekend work may be involved.
