SUPERVISOR, FOOD SERVICES #12141
COMMUNITY AND HEALTH SERVICES DEPARTMENT
HOUSING AND LONG TERM CARE BRANCH
Location:  Maple, ON
Full-Time, Salary $75,790 - $85,881 annually

Reporting to the Manager, Support Services, is responsible for supervising the food service operations for the Regional Long Term Care facility; ensuring quality control procedures are implemented in accordance with health regulations, and Branch policies, procedures and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a Chef training or Culinary Management diploma from a vocational or trade school or community college or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.
  • Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience in a large institutional or commercial establishment providing and supervising a full range of culinary production services, including supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
  • Knowledge of use of all institutional and serving equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of related legislation, including The Long Term Care Homes Act, Sanitation Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, policies and procedures of the Region’s long term care facilities, and Ministry of Health.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self management, accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
  • Management competencies including results/achievement focus, human resources management, leadership, financial management, business planning, decision making/judgement, representation and professionalism and job knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work within a diverse community and ability to deal empathetically with residents, family members, etc., to contribute to their well-being.
  • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications.
  • Contemporary staff supervisory skills including knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices, and relevant employment legislation.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
